Free Pet Food Pantry with North Central Animal Shelter
The Pet Food Pantry provides cat and dog food to low-income residents of Los Angeles whose pets are spayed/neutered and licensed.
At each event, one-gallon bag of dog or cat food per pet will be given to participants. Limit one participant per household for up three cats and/or dogs per household.
Open every Sunday from 1-4pm. To participate, you must sign up in-person at the shelter. Please click here for more details on how to enroll and requirements.

Silverlake Free Food Pantry
Join SLCC every Wednesday from 5-6:30pm for their Food Pantry.
For many years, SLCC has provided a Wednesday night food pantry. All food-insecure persons are invited to come and receive food donated by the LA Food Bank and other local sources. Clothing is also available. Serving Wednesdays, 5:00pm-6:30pm at the Fellowship Hall; guests are asked to line up outside the door and also a drive through service is available.
A new program benefiting the unhoused has begun. Unhoused friends are invited to participate in an extended services program called Wednesday Drop In (WDI) from 2-4:30pm. A small meal is provided along with access to clean clothing and hygiene accessories.
If you want to get involved by volunteering or donating, or have questions, please contact us for needed items/services.

Free Class for Seniors 55+ and Grandchildren with EVAC - Learn the Art of Masapán with Master Artist MAJA
Learn the art of Ecuadorian Bread dough sculpture with master artist and teacher Milton "MAJA" Jurado. A two class series for those interested in learning the basics of bread dough art. Students will create 1-2 pieces to take home.

About the Event
Come and explore the world of Masapán, an ancient Ecuadorian tradition of crafting intricate sculptures from a special dough. In this creative class for seniors (55+) and their grandchildren, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn from Milton "Maja" Jurado, a master of this art form.

Maja will guide you through the process of making and coloring the dough; teaching you how to create beautiful, detailed pieces that are often used in Latin American celebrations and festivals such as Dia de Los Muertos. Whether it's animals, flowers, or even small scenes, Masapán sculptures are full of vibrant color and imagination, and this class will help you bring these creations to life with your own hands.
These classes are a fantastic opportunity for families to bond over an artistic experience, blending tradition, creativity, and fun. Whether you're an experienced artist or just looking for a hands-on activity, you'll enjoy connecting with your grandchild while learning the intricate art of Masapan sculpture.

Every Wednesday, Silverlake Community Church and SELAH host a drop-in service from 2-4:30pm for our unhoused neighbors.
WDI (Wednesday Drop In) connects those in need with much needed services such as clothing, medical, dental, tax preparation, birth certificate retrieval, identification etc. and gives them a hot meal + hygiene accessories.
Did you know that there were nearly 50,000 unhoused people in Los Angeles in 2019?
SLCC uses their ministry to work locally and support our neighbors that are experiencing food and or housing insecurities.

Free Clothing Market at the Left Bank for those in need
🌧️ BIG RAIN expected this weekend! Which is GREAT news for our city. But would make it pretty miserable to shop an outdoor market!
🗓️ So we are moving our FREE MARKET from
this Sunday 1/26 to NEXT SUNDAY 2/2, 10am-4pm!
🎉 And honestly an extra week is giving us soooo many more incredible pieces to add to this market!
👯♀️Bring a friend or shop for them!
☀️ The FREE market will be hosted in our open air backyard (enter from the alley behind the shop!)
☕️ Sweet treats, music and coffee while you shop!
🛍️ While our store front will be open normal hours 10-6 to shop, sell and trade for those that are able to support us as well 🫶!
🤝 We are currently full on donation drop offs. But our buying desk is still gladly accepting seller drop offs daily! And sellers can still opt for returns to be donated! If they can not be used for our free market, they will be given to our year-round partner @dwcweb !

Bring Home a Furry Friend Adoption Weekend
With the goal of getting more furry friends into homes, LA Animal Services will be offering reducing adoption fees for dogs and puppies (excluding $20 license fee for City residents); as well as cats and kittens on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26.
